Brooke Derrick is an award-winning screenwriter, author, and songwriter whose work has earned international recognition across multiple creative fields. Her writing has received honors for Best Writer, Best Screenplay, Best TV Pilot, and more, reflecting her commitment to powerful, emotionally grounded storytelling. Writing has been a constant throughout her life. As a young woman, Brooke spent a decade navigating homelessness in Portland, Maine, where she carried a notepad and wrote relentlessly—developing her voice through lived experience and observation. Those years became a defining foundation for the raw honesty and resilience that shape her work today. Alongside her work in film and literature, she is also a songwriter, further expanding her creative expression through music.
She began her professional writing career in 2021 while living in Buxton, Maine, as a single mother to her beautiful children. What started as a personal discipline quickly evolved into an award-winning body of work, spanning screenplays, television pilots, and literary projects.
Brooke continues to write compelling, character-driven stories that connect with audiences and readers on a meaningful level. Her work reflects a deep understanding of struggle, strength, and humanity, bringing grounded, unforgettable narratives to life across multiple mediums. Brooke now lives in New Jersey with her husband.
